you will get the hang of it i know you can!

life lesson #17: when going skiing for the first time, don't go skiing with my father. Otherwise, you will be put on a horrible, awful ski lift not meant for those putting their skis on for the first time looking like such in the end:
(as corinne so beautifully demonstrated going up the ski lift) and then getting pushed down a steep hill when you have never skied in your entire life. AND THEN, after having one lesson, getting pushed down an even steeper hill and crashing into the net head first because you don't quite know how to stop yourself yet and your father never told you that when you get out of control you SIT DOWN. let's just say corinne did not have such a great day. I know. It is a long lesson. but it is a serious need to know.

you can probably tell that my first day didn't go so well. and i am ready to stop skiing. no more skiing for chandler. in fact i would rather not ski again. ever. but dad already paid for a second lesson and so i buckled down and went the next day. it went better, but at the end of the day i still had to tromp down the very very steep slope in my oh so uncomfortable ski boots with snow coming up to my knees and my shins are hurting like crazy. we were all very happy to come home.

And then yesterday, dad comes in with some christmas lights. They were super tacky. But sometimes it is fun to be tacky. and just plain unavoidable. But after dad hung them up in the family room mom came in and said, "oh, honey...... wow." we could all tell she was being as pleasant as she could, but the truth was that she thought they were ghastly.

today consisted of skiing, again, sightseeing which meant me and corinne singing a bunch of christmas songs in the car without music, and slipping and sliding down icy roads. a fairly pleasant day, i must say. not to mention i have won skip-bo (a card game. if you don't have luck, you lose) three times in a row. which is always a happy happy day.

and finally, after three long days of hard work. i was reminded of this:

and if you don't quite understand what i have said, here is a refresher:

corinne copied some of my things (the picture above) and i figure i need to say that because i was quite proud that i found that picture.
