In the three days we've been here, my mom spent forty-five minutes deciding what bed sheets to buy us* since our shipments didn't come on time, thought we were being kidnapped, is afraid of using the dishwasher just in case she doesn't do it right, and got her wallet stolen in London's largest shopping mall. We have had to park our car a block away from our house, run home from the grocery store in the rain using dad's tiny umbrella that doesn't even cover my mom and I as it gets caught in my hair and keeps on pulling it out. All the while me and Corinne are having a wonderful time creating funny dance moves while my mom and dad freak out over credit cards.
On the good side, we had fish and chips last night. Corinne thought they were very disappointing. In her words, it is just "breaded greasy cod and soggy french fries." Although, I do think we did a very good job entertaining the cooks in a very small restaurant as we sang Supermassive Black Hole (a song me and Corinne hardly know the tune to) and danced in our chairs while making fun of twilight as it played on the TV.
To sum it all up, we have done an amazing job making every Londoner we've seen think Americans are crazy.**
*please do keep in mind the fact that we were in a store that has worse selection and quality than walmart. ** also, thank Corinne for this post. I copied lots of things she said from our family blog.
I need to hear about this kidnapping business... haha.
