Plasters and lollies

To Ashlie and Alexa:
Robert Pattinson has unfortunately not been coming to class so I have not been able to get a picture. But I'm sure you would agree with me and not Corinne.

Anyways, there are lots of VERY interesting shop names and names for food that are different than in the states. For one, instead of band aids they are plasters. And instead of popsicles it is lollies. And everyone knows that it is chips instead of fries and crisps instead of chips. WHY DOES EVERYTHING SOUND BETTER IN BRITIAN? It is really unfair. Plus they also have really cool restaurants and shop names.

1. Wagamama- a restaurant that has really delicious noodles and edamame.
2. The slug and lettuce- a bar and restaurant that doesn't have very good food (something that was really disappointing because the name is so great...)
3. Fat Face- a clothing store
4. The hare and tortoise- also a restaurant, but i've never been inside
5. Poppit Nursery- I think the name explains myself, but THIS specific nursery brings me to my next subject...

We went on Skype with Michael yesterday and Mom told us about two experiences she had that day. First, she saw Poppit Nursery and she thought that was the most amazing name. Right as she said this, I, of course, quoted pirates of the caribbean by saying, "ello poppit" and then mom told us about how she went to the grocery store and was putting all of her groceries in the trunk when an old lady walked by and said,  "mind your bum, love"
And then i found this very entertaining photo on my mom's phone:
oh how i love that boy.

and the other day i was looking for videos and i found one that i liked.
THIS IS BRILLIANT.

enjoy... please.

  1. Chandler. The only reason I have even been reading your blog is in hopes of a Robert Pattinson picture. Luckily, the picture of Michael made up for the disappointment I suffered when I learned there would be no Robert Pattinson look-alike feature. I will forgive you and remain a faithful reader.
